The music is killer! being and old listener to Slay Radio (home of commodore remixes), I particularly love remixes of Moon Patrol´s theme The visuals are shinning here! The vehicle sprite work is ace.

Could this be the definitive Moon Patrol for the Spectrum? No... I am going to call it Moon Ranger 2021, because it took some liberty of reinterpretation... I am sure some people will make a more arcadey version of it at some point

Some suggestions: You could try, to make the vehicle tracks, not to be exactly in sync while rolling (easy change on the sprite). Also, if at least one track is on the ground, it will look more like the vehicle is bouncing around on bumpy terrain, like rocking side to side, instead of very low skip jumping. I am not sure i understand ... you mean one of the tank track should be on the ground at each one time?

Check the movement of the vehicle between 0:19 AND 0:21 in your latest posted video.
It seems that the vehicle is jumping, because both tracks seem to go up one pixel at the exact same time, although it's just progressing forward normally.
What I wast trying to suggest is that you do subpixel animation, to make it more like a rocking left to right.
The best reference example I can give is for you to take a look at animation of the tank on the arcade game Metal Slug.
If I had some free time, I would just edit your sprite and show it, but I'm late in my own development for everything I still want to include. So I hope the above explanation/clarification and video references help.

TIP: The Green top of the mountains in the background is oscillating with scroll, it's an easy fix.
You could also use that magenta character area above the mountains to add an extra pixel or two of height on those mountains, since they don't need to have the black shadow on the top. But might affect the shots going up.

You are on the right track (no pun intended) The tracks coming up and down is nice, and emulates suspension. The only thing I would suggest to change, is the fact that the farthest track is coming down at the same time as the cockpit is going up. This makes it look like the tank stretches or grows vertically and later shrinks vertically. Just sync these, so that when the farthest track is going down, either the cockpit stays level (like if it's only the suspension working), or the cockpit goes down too, either on the same frame, or the next frame (subpixel movement). This should give a good looking rocking left to right illusion. But as with anything to do with pixel art, just experiment and see what works and what doesn't.

File not valid or corrupt. I played in Fuse, but found several levels without a single enemy. Something is not right...
